Originally developed by the Learning Advisory Service in Tower Hamlets to make communication in their borough easier.
Teachers from the Learning Advisory Service have been using Signalong successfully in Tower Hamlets for many years to support children and young people with speech, language, communication and learning needs. Our aim is for professionals, families and young people to use this resource to develop their communication skills, both in school, and at home.
 
Our manual is divided into two parts:
Part 1 – Core Vocabulary Essential signs (for supporting everyday communication, language, and concept development). This will form the basis of our training courses.
Part 2 – Additional Vocabulary This section contains additional signs to support wider learning and exploration of the world which can be accessed as required.
